Dons keep their 14th clean sheet

Wimbledon face their ‘bogey’ team this weekend as they visit Accrington Stanley who sit in 20th position coming into this match. The Dons sit in 5th place after a great win against promotion rival Bradford last weekend. Accrington has never been an easy team to beat for Wimbledon as they have only managed to claim 3 points twice in the last seven meetings. Both of those win coming in 2021.

Changes included James Furlong replace James Tilley, and Sasu replace a tired Matty Steven’s. A very dull start saw neither side create much at all as Ben Woods shoots miles over the bar and Sasu sees a shot well saved after turning his man.

The Second half didn’t get much better, Marcus Browne and Steven’s came on to replace Kelly and Sasu. Browne looking like a great addition for the Dons as he looks to bring games to life with his tidy feet and quick dribbling. Best chance of the game fell to Marcus Browne who sees a shot blocked from going into the back of the net.

Full time : Accrington Stanley 0-0 AFC Wimbledon

A dull game and a dull performance. Only 1 shot on target the entire game. Got to see an attacking reaction against Crewe on Tuesday to stay in and around those automatic spots. Good to keep another clean sheet which shows how good our defense is this season.
